Is overseas talent for your business

Childcare worker

Employing workers from overseas can give your business a real advantage, by introducing new ideas and technologies and meeting skill shortage requirements. In the ACT, you can recruit overseas skilled workers by:

SkillSelect is an online service that enables skilled workers and business people interested in migrating to Australia to record their details to be considered for a skilled visa. Australian employers can use SkillSelect to easily identify and contact skilled workers to fill skill shortages within their organisation. The SkillSelect service is free and employers are not obliged to sponsor an intending migrant found through the system.

Hiring skilled workers with work rights.

Employers can hire skilled workers from overseas who already have a valid visa to work in Australia, including migrants who have been nominated by the ACT Government because their skills are in demand, international students and graduates, and working holiday makers who are allowed to work for an employer for up to six month. It is easy to check whether the overseas worker has work rights online at Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO).
