SkillSelect is an online service that enables skilled workers and business people interested in migrating to Australia to record their details to be considered for a skilled visa through an Expression of Interest (EOI).

If you have skills and qualifications that Australia needs, you need to submit an EOI through SkillSelect.  Once you have registered your details with SkillSelect the Australian government could invite you to lodge a visa application or you could be found and nominated by an Australian employer.

If you are seeking nomination by the ACT to live in Canberra, you must lodge an application for ACT nomination of a Skilled – Nominated (subclass 190) visa.  If the ACT agrees to nominate you, your EOI will be confirmed on Skillselect and the Department of Immigration and Border Protection will immediately issue the visa invitation. You will then have 60 days to apply for the visa.
